The small movements of daily life, such as standing, pacing and fidgeting, can burn meaningful energy over time.

This everyday movement is often called non-exercise activity thermogenesis, or NEAT. It includes the motion outside formal workouts: walking to a sink, changing posture, carrying bags, taking stairs. This matters globally because many people cannot schedule perfect exercise sessions. The so-what: a body benefits from being used often, not only trained formally.

Ordinary matter makes up only about five percent of the universe; the rest is mostly dark matter and dark energy inferred from gravity and expansion.

Stars, planets, bodies and phones are made of ordinary matter, but cosmology suggests they are a minority of the cosmic budget. Dark matter helps explain gravitational behaviour, while dark energy is linked to the universe’s accelerating expansion. This matters globally because science is honest about what it cannot yet see directly. The lesson: reality is larger than the visible part.
