Privacy Policy

This policy explains how JJ BROS STUDIO LTD handles information when you use the released Ikigai Daily iPhone app, an Android test build or the website. The mobile app builds have no user accounts and keep your favourites, creations and preferences locally. The free app experience uses Google AdMob, and the app stores handle the optional one-time Remove Ads purchase.

1. Who We Are

Ikigai Daily is operated by JJ BROS STUDIO LTD, which is the controller of information it receives directly.

2. Information Stored in the Mobile App Builds

The iPhone app and Android test builds may store the following on your device so their features work:

• favourite card identifiers;
• custom-card text and design choices, and temporary files created when you save or share a card;
• selected moods, topics, language, appearance and onboarding state;
• reminder frequency, scheduled card identifiers and notification settings;
• wallpaper and widget preferences; and
• a local flag recording that the store has confirmed Remove Ads.

iOS uses Apple storage such as UserDefaults and app-group storage; Android uses private app storage such as SharedPreferences. We do not operate a server that receives this information. Notifications are scheduled locally and can be changed in the app or device settings. The apps do not request your contacts or precise location and do not ask for your name or email address.

Device and cloud backups

If device backup is enabled, Apple or Google may include some private app data in an iCloud, Android or other device backup. A backup may restore that information when you reinstall the app or set up another device. Those backups are controlled by your platform account and provider; JJ BROS STUDIO LTD cannot view or delete them. To remove backup copies as well as the live app data, manage the relevant device backup in your Apple or Google account settings.

3. Advertising in the Free Mobile App Builds

The free iPhone app and Android test builds use the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform. Google and participating ad partners may automatically collect or share the following data for advertising, measurement, analytics, security and fraud prevention:

We receive aggregated advertising and revenue reports. We do not send Google the content of your favourites, custom cards, reminder topics or wallpaper choices. Google says Mobile Ads SDK data is encrypted in transit. Its exact processing can depend on your device, consent, region, SDK version and the ad that is served.

In the UK, EEA and other regions where required, the app presents Google's consent choices before requesting production ads. You can refuse personalised advertising and still use the free content; you may instead receive non-personalised, contextual or limited ads. On iOS, cross-app tracking and IDFA access also depend on the App Tracking Transparency choice. Where Google requires an in-app privacy options entry point, it appears in Settings. Device-level ad and tracking controls remain available in iOS or Android settings.

A verified one-time Remove Ads purchase stops the app from requesting and displaying AdMob ads. It does not erase data Google or an ad partner processed earlier. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy, Google advertising information and Google's privacy controls.

4. App Store and Google Play Billing

Remove Ads is a one-time, non-subscription purchase. Apple processes iOS purchases through the App Store and Google processes Android purchases through Google Play. The relevant store handles your store account, payment method, billing address, purchase history, refunds and payment security under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your full card or bank details.

The app asks the store for product pricing and purchase or entitlement status so it can complete or restore Remove Ads. We may receive store-provided transaction, entitlement and aggregated sales records for fulfilment, accounting, fraud prevention and support. A local entitlement flag is retained on the device; the store keeps its own purchase record according to its retention rules.

5. Optional Wikipedia Requests

When you open More on a supported card, the app may request a summary and image directly from Wikimedia's Wikipedia services. The request includes the relevant article title and standard network information, such as IP address and app or device request headers. It does not include an Ikigai Daily account identifier because there are no app accounts. Opening Read more takes you to Wikipedia in a web browser. Wikimedia processes those requests under the Wikimedia Privacy Policy. The app's core card library otherwise works locally.

6. The Website

The website at ikigaidaily.app has no user accounts. Its reader stores favourites in your browser's local storage. The site also stores your privacy choice and whether you have dismissed the app-download prompt. These browser values remain on that device and are not submitted to us by those features. You can remove them by clearing site data for ikigaidaily.app.

Our hosting, content-delivery and security providers necessarily process technical request data such as IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser or user-agent information, response status and security signals. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and maintain security. Some pages may contain advertising spaces. Optional advertising or audience-measurement tools are subject to the choices offered on the site where required.

Selecting an email link opens your email provider; the website does not contain an Ikigai Daily contact-account form. If you email us, we receive the address, message and attachments you choose to send. External links, including Wikipedia and app-store links, are governed by the destination provider's privacy policy.

7. Why We Use Information

Depending on the information and where you live, we rely on:

• performance of a contract or steps you request, such as delivering and restoring Remove Ads;
• consent for personalised advertising, tracking or optional audience measurement where consent is required;
• legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving and supporting the apps and website, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights; and
• compliance with tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

You may withdraw consent through the in-app privacy options, iOS or Android settings, website choices where shown, or by clearing browser site data. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it.

8. Sharing and International Processing

We use information only as described in this policy. Relevant data may be processed by Google and its ad partners, Apple, Google Play, Wikimedia, and website hosting or security providers. We may also disclose limited information if required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell your favourites, custom cards or support details for money. Some privacy laws use "sale" or "sharing" broadly for personalised advertising; the consent and device controls described above let you refuse that advertising where applicable. Providers may process information outside the UK or your country under their legal transfer mechanisms.

9. Retention and Deletion

• Mobile-app data remains locally until you remove items, clear app storage or delete the app. A platform backup can retain a copy until you manage or delete that backup.
• Website favourites and preferences remain until you clear the browser's site data or the browser removes them.
• Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain a support record, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymised.
• Transaction and accounting records are kept for the period required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal rules.
• Security logs are retained for the period reasonably needed to operate and protect the site, subject to the hosting provider's retention settings.

Google, Apple, Google Play and Wikimedia set their own retention periods for data they control. Full local and third-party deletion options are explained on the Data & Deletion page.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Because there are no Ikigai Daily accounts and local app/browser data is not sent to us, we usually cannot identify or retrieve it. You can act on it directly using our deletion guide. For information held by JJ BROS STUDIO LTD, such as a support email, contact us. We may need enough information to verify and locate the request. Requests about data controlled by Google, an app store, Wikimedia or a backup provider should be made through that provider's privacy tools.

11. Security

We minimise the information we receive, use platform-private storage for mobile-app preferences, use HTTPS for network traffic under our control, and limit access to support and operational information. Providers such as Google state that their Mobile Ads SDK encrypts data in transit. No device, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we review safeguards as the service changes.

12. Children

Ikigai Daily is a general-audience service and is not designed to solicit personal information from children. The apps have no accounts and do not ask for a child's name, email address or precise location. If a parent or guardian believes a child sent personal information in a support message, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate. Advertising remains subject to Google's age, consent and content controls and applicable law.

13. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy when the apps, website, providers or legal requirements change. The current version and revision date will remain at ikigaidaily.app/privacy.
