Effective:
Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the released Ikigai Daily iPhone app, Android test builds and website. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Ikigai Daily.
1. Publisher
Ikigai Daily is published and operated by:
JJ BROS STUDIO LTD5 Woodville Road
Nottingham, NG5 2JS
United Kingdom
Email: support@ikigaidaily.app
2. The Service
Ikigai Daily offers a curated library of quotations, proverbs, facts, reflections and related context, together with reader, favourite, custom-card, reminder, wallpaper, widget, sharing and discovery features. Features differ by platform and may change over time. No Ikigai Daily account is needed.
3. Licence and Acceptable Use
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the apps and website for lawful, non-commercial purposes, subject to these terms and the applicable app-store rules. You must not:
- break the law or infringe another person's rights;
- interfere with, overload, probe, scrape at unreasonable volume, or bypass security or access controls for the service;
- copy, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of the service except where the relevant material's own licence permits it;
- reverse engineer or modify the apps except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- use Ikigai Daily or exported cards to harass, deceive, defame or distribute unlawful material.
4. Your Custom Cards and Shares
Custom cards are created and stored locally. You remain responsible for text, images and other material you choose to add or share, and for having any permissions needed to use it. We do not claim ownership of your original custom-card content and, because the app does not upload it to us, you grant us no hosting licence for it. Once you share an exported image or link, the destination service and recipient control their copy.
5. Editorial Content and Attribution
Ikigai Daily combines original presentation and commentary with public-domain, licensed, attributed or otherwise lawfully used source material. Attribution and source information can be incomplete or disputed, particularly for old sayings and quotations. Please contact us with a well-supported correction or rights concern.
Wikipedia summaries, images and linked articles are provided by Wikimedia and their contributors under their applicable terms and licences. Advertising is supplied by third parties. A link, citation or advertisement does not mean JJ BROS STUDIO LTD endorses its claims, products or destination.
6. General-Information Disclaimer
The service is for reflection, culture and general information. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Historical quotations may reflect the language or views of their time. Do not rely on a card as the sole basis for an important decision or emergency action.
7. Advertising and Remove Ads
The free mobile app builds may show banner and occasional interstitial ads supplied by Google AdMob. Consent and device privacy controls apply as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Remove Ads is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase—not a subscription. The current price and currency are displayed by the Apple App Store or Google Play before purchase. After the store verifies the entitlement, the app stops requesting and showing ads. Restore Purchases is available in the app. Purchases, refunds, revocations, family or device availability, and store-account access are also subject to the store's rules. Refund requests must be made through the store that processed the purchase.
8. App-Store Terms
The iOS app is licensed, not sold, and is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. Android test builds and any Google Play purchase are also subject to the applicable Google Play terms. If a store term controls a matter about app distribution, licensing, payment or refunds, that store term applies to that matter.
9. Third-Party Services
The service may connect or link to Google AdMob, Apple, Google Play, Wikimedia, device sharing tools and external websites. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party availability, content, ads, security or conduct, although these terms do not remove any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep Ikigai Daily useful and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may correct, add, remove, restrict or discontinue content or features, including where needed for security, legal compliance, store policy, provider changes or maintenance. Local content and features may continue to work when a network service is unavailable.
11. Intellectual Property
Except for third-party and user material, JJ BROS STUDIO LTD owns or licenses the app software, website code, selection and arrangement, branding, original copy, graphics and other service materials. Ikigai Daily and its visual identity may not be used to imply endorsement or affiliation without written permission. Any third-party material remains subject to its own ownership and licence.
12. Responsibility and Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing affects mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
To the extent permitted by law, Ikigai Daily is provided on an "as available" basis. JJ BROS STUDIO LTD is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, loss caused by your misuse of the service, or third-party services outside our reasonable control. If you use the service for business purposes, you do so at your own risk; the service is intended primarily for personal use.
13. Suspension
We may restrict access to the website or connected features where we reasonably believe use is unlawful, abusive, insecure or materially breaches these terms. Because the mobile apps have no Ikigai Daily account, there is no Ikigai Daily account to suspend or terminate. You may stop using the service and delete local data at any time.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that a consumer may retain the benefit of mandatory law and the right to bring proceedings in another court where the law of their home country provides it.
15. Changes and Contact
We may update these terms to reflect service or legal changes. The current version and effective date will be published at ikigaidaily.app/terms. Continuing to use the service after an update means the revised terms apply from their stated date, where permitted by law.
