The idea in context
An open loop can stay mentally active because the brain has not marked it complete. That helps explain why half-done work, unanswered messages or unresolved conversations keep returning to mind. This matters anywhere people juggle too much. The practical lesson: write the next action down so the mind can stop holding the whole loop alone.
