The idea in context
Widely repeated as a Cobain line, but the sourcing is uncertain and it may be a modern paraphrase. The distinction is still useful: height is only the stage. The real fear is falling — impact, loss of control, what happens after letting go — which is why the cure is rarely avoiding heights and usually learning to trust one's grip.
