Why it matters
The idea in context
A neutron star is the collapsed core left after some massive stars explode. Its matter is compressed to almost unimaginable density: a city-sized object can contain more mass than the Sun, so “a tablespoon” becomes a way to feel the scale.

Bir çorba kaşığı nötron yıldızı maddesi yaklaşık bir milyar ton (900 milyon metrik ton) ağırlığında olurdu.
Nötron yıldızı, bazı büyük yıldızların patlamasından sonra kalan çökmüş çekirdektir. Maddesi neredeyse hayal edilemeyecek yoğunluğa sıkışır: şehir büyüklüğünde bir cisim Güneş’ten fazla kütle taşıyabilir; “bir çorba kaşığı” benzetmesi bu ölçeği hissettirmek içindir.
